Fordham Now reported from Commonweal's Centennial Benefit Dinner, held October 28, 2024 in Manhattan. At the dinner, Commonweal honored Fordham president Tania Tetlow — the first woman and lay president of the university — with its Centennial Award. “She’s an inspiring example who really aligns with Commonweal’s mission, and our belief in the importance of laypeople in matters of faith and leadership,” Commonweal editor Dominic Preziosi said of Tetlow. The benefit dinner celebrated 100 years of Commonweal's continuous publication, and featured many Fordham friends and alumni, including professor emerita Elizabeth Johnson, C.S.J., dinner co-chairs Armando Nuñez and Kim Bepler, and Preziosi himself.
