They keep arriving, defying
the summer heat, the crowding
of ancient thoughts in the mind’s

sceptical corners, defying
the mood to celebrate
the presence of old

relationships now, at this
moment’s looking back
at all those things I lost

in my journey toward
myself, in a mood’s revival
through a slight, healing touch.

The addresses keep rushing in,
and I wonder if they are necessary
in this body’s mistaken adventures.
